Thats cool that you aren't in the Hollywood scene. Not EVERY movie comes out of Hollywood. Actually, Iceland has produced some critical darlings the past twenty years or so.
Most people don't realize that many lesser-known countries (film-wise) use government funding for their film projects. These generally yield more high-brow, artsy films- and less action/blow-sh!t-up type of films. This is why you'll often see a lot of "foreign" art-house films.
